The Rose and the Nightingale

Serkan UYAR proposes to enjoy through music a love story at the flourishing time of the litterature of Divan.

He sings as a nightingale this intense and eternal love towards his beloved : the Rose. This allegory has inspired the composers at the time of ottoman empire, an continues to feed many artists in our century, thus giving an untemporal dimension to the matter. The influence will go far beyond eastern borders since the West discovers that loving allegory through the fascinated gaze of the writer Oscar Wilde who illustrated this wonderful story in his work "The Happy Prince".
